Indeed ... we all have fond memories of different places. I think it's lovley that Opentopia can give us windows onto the world and rekindle some of those memories. :-)

Hi indigo, what's in a name... just a minor detail. You remember what a lovely time you had, and that's the main thing.

You are correct Mira, this is the Stafford Bay View Inn on Woodland Ave. And is the place we ate at,sorry for the mix-up, it was 1984, I guess my memory not as good as I thought.

Indigo - it's lovely that you have wonderful memories of the Stafford's Perry Hotel and it looks fabulous! This is their website ... http://www.staffords.com/perryhotel :-)
However, this is not the place on this webcam ... I'm still looking around Petoskey on Google Streetview. :-)

Mira-Look for Traverse City, Michigan then follow the coast line north til you get to Petosky. Petosky is approx. half way between Traverse City and the Mackinaw Bridge. Hope that helps you.

Hi indigo. More than 29 years on and I can tell it is as clear as yesterday to you. Lovely to have such a memory.
I hope you have a Happy New Year.

Yes M D, it was one of the highlights of my life with a woman I loved and still do, may she rest in peace.

Indigo, you need to do some more research ... I've been trying, without success, to locate this place on Google Maps. :-)
