Mira ...... it must have been so frightening. 4,500 people are a lot of eggs to have in one basket.

I just watched that time-lapse video of the storm ... that looked so scary ... the sea was boiling!

Yikes ... the word "bloated" comes to mind!

Good pics. I love rainbows. I was clearing out some photos in my phone this morning and came across 2 pictures of the same rainbow....... half a rainbow in each picture. I decided not to delete them. :D
I'm not sure MD but in the local paper it said the ship could carry 18,000 shipping containers!! I certainly wouldn't want to chance my luck on board that monster in a storm! Here it is passing the PA cam ... upper left corner ... http://s22.postimg.org/w17kvezsh/PA_cam_2.jpg ... and not long after, a rainbow appeared ... http://s17.postimg.org/e1p7kk3kf/PA_Rainbow.jpg

Mira .... lovely pic. I wonder how stable it is in bad weather. I read the other day of a cruise ship having to return to port because of rough seas. It had apparently tilted over to 45 degrees. I also saw an ad for a holiday on a cruiser that has 19 decks. It looked just too top heavy.
I was going say, it should be visible on the Port Townsend webcam any moment now, but the weather is pretty abysmal, so the view is somewhat limited ...
If you go to Google Maps and zoom out until you can see the cloud layer, there's some really nasty looking cloud masses around the globe .... no wonder we're all having such freaky weather. Last night we had tree frogs chorusing in the woods, which is almost unheard of in January around here ... the temp was 50 degrees all day. And there are dandelions appearing in the grass!
Good job BJ doesn't have far to walk to get home!

It's really horrible in Devon ..... very high winds and rain. The wind is roaring round the hills. BJ is working tonight and I said the weather would probably keep customers at home. She said not a chance ..... for some ... this will be their first payday since before Christmas.

The weather's turning nasty again ... gusting winds and rain.

Hi Mira ..... that's like us with the moors ...... clouds roll in. It looks a beautiful early evening there.

MD, they're having better weather than us ... our sunset has been blocked by rainclouds rolling off the mountains.

Indeed. I also managed to snag a pic from the New Dungeness Lighthouse webcam ... you can just see it in the background ... http://s27.postimg.org/43b85pm1v/NDLwebcam_N2.jpg
What a huge vessel. I like that network cam .... it'll be lovely on a clear day.
I managed to get a fuzzy snap of it before it disappeared ... http://s24.postimg.org/f8q8gogw5/Benjamin_Franklin.jpg Might have better luck spotting it in the distance on the PA webcam ... http://forkswa.com/port-angeles-views/
The largest container ship in the world is heading west along of the Strait today ...

It's really berserk over the UK ....... pretty swirls on that weather map!
Weather Nation is now showing winter storm warnings all up the west coast .... fortunately, the worst of it will just miss my corner.
Thanks MD, good link ... yup, it ain't looking good.
Mira ..... we also have dandelions .... nature's gone crazy.
