Very happy to hear that, Mira. I've been in both types of realationships, Married twice, but luckily, I got the bad one out of the way first. This one has given me the best 36 years of my life. It felt like the first one took 36 away from me. :) It was only 4, but seemed MUCH longer. I suppose you've noticed that MY camera is out again? Been doing great the last few days and was on this morning but now it's gone.
Mira Bilis09/25/15 22:32
Indeed Wynn ... and I'm loving every minute of my life. :)
wynn1009/25/15 22:23
Oh, OK. Well, again, not just being nosy. I know some of us must seem sort of that way. See, I've always heard that you all are kind of, how do I put this, not secretive but maybe more reserved in personal information. And as I told MD one time, I try to be polite and tactful and respectful but I'm NOT PC. Too dang old to watch every word I say. I do not wish to offend anyone but if I say something and someone doesn't like the fact that I may say it the way we all did 40 years ago, then it's just too bad. I've had things said to me and about me over the years, like we all have, and I survived. :) Anyway, I do hope it's all worked out to your satisfaction. Amzing how the right partner makes the world a better place, whereever you may be.
Mira Bilis09/25/15 21:54
LOL ... no big secret Wynn ... I met and married an American who lived in WA, so I moved out here. I was born and raised in England ... a Lancashire lass by birth but raised in Sussex. :)
wynn1009/25/15 21:45
Mira, maybe I should explain something. I'm from the South, as you already know. We are really interested in people, it's not just idle curiosity when I ask a question. Cultures are different, so if I ever say or ask anything that you think is none of my business, don't mind saying so, OK? :)
wynn1009/25/15 21:41
So you were originally from over there? I would ask how you wound up where you are but if you rather not say, don't worry about it. It just seems like quite a big change as far as location. You went about as far West in the US as you could from where you were.
Mira Bilis09/25/15 21:31
Yes Wynn ... moved to the US in 2009.
wynn1009/25/15 21:17
Mira, you lived in England also? I had no idea but of course, I came in here late, and will probably never catch up. :)
Mira Bilis09/25/15 05:08
That's extremely interesting MD! When I lived in Sussex I remember visiting Groombridge Place, just over the border in Kent, where Conan Doyle set his Holmes novel "The Valley of Fear" ... beautiful house and grounds. http://www.groombridgeplace.com/ I believe he spent the last years of his life in Crowborough, Sussex. He was certainly a fascinating man. :)
A belated good night to you too Wynn ... being on the west coast I always feel like I'm the last one up, so I should turn off the lights. ;)
wynn1009/25/15 00:51
MD, you hit on something there that we may have to talk more about. Doyle, in the Holmes series was one of my favorite authors from the time I was old enough to read. My parents taught me a love of reading that's been with me all my life. Wow, to hear you tell that bit of history is absolutely amazing. Please forgive me if I return to that at a later time and go into more detail. Look, I know it's late there for you and I'm a fairly early to bed and early riser so I'll say goodnight for now. Thank you again for all you've told me about today. Mira, if you're still around, a good night to you also.
MD09/25/15 00:26
Wynn ..... Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Hound of the Baskervilles, was in this area having a vacation. He did a tour of the moors in a coach driven by a Mr Baskerville who lived in my town. That's where he got the title of the book from. Mr Baskerville's house is still here .... complete with large garage doors where he used to park his coach.
I think all weathermen are the same ..... seems like they just guess the weather. :D
I never knew much about America until I found Opentopia. So educational.
wynn1009/24/15 23:37
Thanks, MD, that was informative. Your area is just something I've never known anything about. If we hear anything here, it's always about London, banking, MP's, actors, that sort of thing. You saying moor brings me to the closest point I've ever been knowing anything about the country there. Only thing I ever heard that way was in the Sherlock Holmes novels, especially "The Hound of the Baskervilles". So see, I'm woefully ingnorant of the location and the weather. And I'm afraid at this stage of the game, I may never know any more than what you tell me. :) Thanks again. BTW, we're to be around 80 for highs and mid 60's for lows this week and weekend but they often get it wrong. Today was to be 84, started out at 70 this morning, then dropped to 65 for the "high". With the billions of dollars the National Weather Service has gotten over the years, you'd think they could do a little better than that. :)
Mira Bilis09/24/15 23:33
MD ... it's good that both you and I live in such similarly temperate zones ... there's much to be thankful for. :)
MD09/24/15 23:13
Wynn .... we don't get such high temperatures ... it was in the 80's in July, this coming week we are forecast to have temperatures of 63/64 and no rain at all. Being on the edge of the moor ..... we get minus temperatures in winter but not often on consecutive days. No need to read all of the link .... just scroll to the last paragraph. It sums up exactly what I think of this lovely county. :D
Wow, you all must have been close by, glad to hear from you both. MD, not so much as used to be but there's always projects to work on. If I let myself, I'd be here more often. Mira, the colors are just beginning to change here, moreso North of us in North Carolina and North Georgia. We don't have many hardwoods left in this area, most have been cut out over the years, about all here anymore is longleaf pines. We have pecan trees in the yard but the leaves usually fall either green or a faded brown. We do have one Bradford pear that changes and has color. Used to have a poplar that was the nicest bright yellow you ever saw but it's no longer with us. MD, how about where you are? Any color changes? Big temp changes? We'll be in the upper 90's in the summer, sometimes 100+, then may be in the low 20's occasionally in the Winter. Of course, we go by Farenheit, I assume you're on the Celsius scale. I remember conversions from chem classes but it's too much trouble now since there's calculators on the 'net. :)
Mira Bilis09/24/15 21:53
Hi Wynn ... same weather as you ... I'm loving the autumn colours. :)
MD09/24/15 21:25
Hello Wynn ...... it just shows that you have a life!!!! LOL
wynn1009/24/15 21:21
Hey Mira and MD, just thought I'd drop in and say hello. I haven't been following any cams lately except this one and not much even on it. Glad to see it's still up and running. Hope both of you are well. Mira, we've been having the kind of weather you're supposed to have, cool, cloudy and rainy. Fall is definitely getting here.
Mira Bilis09/18/15 23:48
Have a good evening Wynn. :)

MD, happened to run across this after what you said. Seems that Doyle was a fairly regular visitor at the place.
