I see they got rid of that metal sheeting. Not so sure this is much of an improvement.

Poor Copernicus, having to sit in front of that hideous background. I found the local newspaper, Gazeta Olsztyn. The metal sheeting was put there on Wednesday and by Thursday vandals had attacked it. The President of the Republic of Poland was due to visit on Friday so they took the fencing down for his visit and replaced it as soon as he had gone. Heaven knows why they put it there in the first place. Nobody will want their photo taken in front of that mess!
Lol some kids are poking its eye and putting there finger up the statues nose XD

Hi Jules. That's exactly what I do! It amazes me how much you can find out on the internet. I noticed a cam on Malta. Out of curiosity I looked it up on Wikipedia. I never realized just how bad it was for the people of Malta during the war. They were rationed even worse than Britain. I lost myself for a couple of hours, going from link to link. I'd never touched a computer until November 2011. Like you, I don't know how I managed without it.

Hi MD, I found it on wikipedia and changed the camera description today. I like to do research and find out things. I love the internet for that and wonder how I managed before that. Every time that I wondered about something, or was curious, I would have to wait to go to the library to search through their reference books. Now, at the click of a finger, I can find out in seconds what it would have taken me a week. Yay for computers and the internet.

Thank you Jules. When I asked who he was, his name was not in the cam description. I shall now take a look at Wikipedia. Opentopia is soo educational!

Statue of Nicolaus Copernicus proposed theory which placed the Sun, rather than the Earth, at the center. (from wikipedia!) He was born in what is Poland today.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolaus_Copernicus#cite_note-1">

I've just seen a lady having her photograph taken whilst kissing this statue and another lady sat on his lap to have HER photo taken. Anyone know who he is?
