I read an article in the Express and Star online, my local paper when I lived in the midlands. An ambulance on its way to an emergency was flagged down to attend to someone who'd fallen of their bicycle and broken an arm. So the emergency ambulance put a call out for another ambulance to attend the first incident. To me - that was definitely a case of getting priorities wrong.

I can picture it now ...
"Officer!! Please help!! My friend has been stabbed and is bleeding to death on the beach over there!!"
"Sorry Sir, you'll have to wait until we've arrested this smoker and taken him down to the nick."
;P

Mira ..... I foresee even more trouble at chucking out time. It's unrealistic to expect our already stretched police officers to enforce this law. Maybe they don't want children being influenced by seeing smokers but at night - children shouldn't be there. Crazy.

I can see it being easier to enforce during daylight hours but I'd like to know how they're going to enforce it at night, especially at chucking out time with all those clubs and bars along the seafront. ;)
I've heard of a blue moon but this is ridiculous!
Mira .... that's about right. :D

Thanks Mira. I looked at the UK cams and didn't notice this but maybe it's because I was expecting to see the derelict pier and I can't see diddly!!!!
