This is one of the places that are flat enough that you can actually see the curve of the earth. The left-to-right curve is maybe a camera artifact, but the directly ahead view shows stuff disappearing over the edge. On the ground level, long trains and telephone poles show this very clearly. Also, when it rains the water just lays there and goes nowhere.
