Mira Bilis, I have a card depicting exactly what you described. On the back of the card it says "Dartmoor from Peek Hill." The clouds are dark purple to black. My daughter sent the card to me when I was baking in the heat of southern France. I'm looking at it right now, I liked it so much I kept it and put it up in my new home. And you're right, it does glow almost neon green. Happily, on the card there is no rain.

Devon is always lush and green, and often soggy!  :)

A short while ago we had that effect where the sun was shining brightly overhead but in the distance huge purple-black clouds were approaching from the mountains.  It cast an eerie light over everything and made all the leaves and grass glow almost a neon green.  Needless to say, the clouds arrived and are now dumping all that rain over us.  :-)
