Yes ... this is obviously a small, backyard chicken coop.  In Seattle and other west coast towns and cities, urban free-range chickens are becoming very popular.  As long as they are happy, comfortable and well looked after, there is little or no aggression ... and no competition based on their colour/breed that I'm aware of.

Kyle this isn't a farm, it's in the backyard of a house in Minneapolis. Minneapolis allows backyard chicken coops as long as there are no roosters included.

Backyard chicken coops have become such a big thing in Minneapolis that they now have a chicken shelters for those that stray or are abandon when people find out that they're a little more work then they thought they would be.

I wish we had sound on this cam, they always look content.

BTW there is a dead or dieing chicken thats red at the moment, the farmeer will remove it, or what ever large farming concern that only raises chickens

I've seen this happen on the farm if you have all white, they kill the non white, or in reverse, nature abhores anything out of the ordinary. In nature even a mother  (Such as a Fox) will throw out a pup that have strange hair, such as usually white, even sometimes totally black, mainly as a nice thing, as the rest of nature will kill it as it cant use the natural camoflauge to hunt in, and as it weakens and expires it will be eaten by some other hungry animal. That is the natural way of life, survival of the fittest, yes, it is the norm for nature. humans are apart, always have been, but it takes many to make it work, or we are hunted

it's -40 here this morning and I see that most of the chickens are roosting up near the heater !

What a wonderful cause. Hen Heaven. I've never thought of eating turkey eggs but I see they sell them. I love duck eggs.

They look very well cared for, as proved by them having a space heater in the cold weather.

It's January and the day the extreme cold hit MN....the chickens look cozy...and it looks like they've hung a space heater from the ceiling maybe.  I don't know how the chickens could survive minus50 F windchills otherwise.
