Don't worry MD ... it was only occasionally that I ate it that way ... mostly it was cold with a generous dollop of English mustard or Branston pickle.  ;)

Mira Bilis..... I'M SHOCKED!!!!! For me it's porkpie and pickles. When I was in France they did something called pate en croute which was their version of pork pie. Not a patch off a Melton Mowbray but it fixed the craving. Now I'm surrounded by them, I very rarely eat them.  Typical.  :)

I have to confess that I often ate hot pork pie with potatoes, peas and gravy!  ;)  Oh dear ... now I may get a pork pie craving which, around here, cannot be satisfied.  :/

well i had to check myself because i didn't hear or read of any invasions...lol

Trix, I'm glad I asked. I have to say that British people do not normally have 2 pork pies and mushy peas for a meal. Pork pies are usually eaten cold and mushy peas are hot and most often eaten with fish and chips. Now I'm hungry!  LOL
