I hate the thought of no power. Takes me back to the 70's when we had those "organized" power cuts.
Mira Bilis11/07/14 16:57
We had stormy conditions here yesterday from a separate weather system ... the power was blipping off and on all day, although we didn't lose it completely. Mind you, we got off lightly compared to further west on the peninsula ... the local news said 5,400 homes lost power for several hours due to the high winds bringing trees down onto power lines.

Sounds like the typhoon has run off-course. I hope it fizzles out before doing any damage.

Apparenty Nuri began as a typhoon from warmer parts but is now building up strength again as it tracks north-eastward.

Mira, I always associate typhoons with warmer climes. Now if you'd said a blizzard....
Mira Bilis11/07/14 16:13
The Alaska coast is supposed to get battered by Typhoon Nuri today and over the weekend ... I wonder if it will reach as far as Kivalina?
