I don't know what traffic is like near your place but 5pm where I am would not be the best time to go out in an unfamiliar motor. Our streets were built for horse and cart .... quite narrow. Plus .... half the drivers here seem to have no idea of the width of their vehicle..... ...

Sounds like a typical dealership. I'm not making excuses for them but you never know where that foglight has got to come from. And if questioned they'll probably say nobody had one in stock. It's almost as bad as waiting for Christmas!!!
