My philosophy was always to choose one charity close to my heart and stick with it, regardless of how many other begging letters I got. You can't donate to everyone otherwise you'd become a charity case yourself! ;)

Mira ..... my sentiments entirely. I know of an old lady (91) who has so many direct debits donating to different charities that she is considering cutting back on her cleaning lady because of shortage of funds. She gets letters from places she already donates to and they ask for...

If they saved all the money they spent on begging letters/pens/cards, they might not need to beg so much (at least that's what I used to say when I got those.)

And now it's not strawberry cereal anymore ..... I've picked out the dried strawberries! Mira ..... I remember saying I was surprised to see Fred is a woman. And I was surprised again!! I've done lots of reading since I got back ....... begging letters from the Red Cross, Centre...

I've been to Cancun a few times. Always in early December. It's the rainy season then but there are no triple digit temps. It rained briefly nearly every day but the beach was still enjoyable and not as crowded as it would have been around the Christmas/New Year's holidays.
