we had a couple winters with no snow but it was still cold!!!!! plants need the snow to insulate them from the cold or they die!!!!

That's unusual in the UK. Our cold snaps are broken up by the odd, warmer day. In fact.... I feel guilty calling it cold. I have worn sandals all through the year... it just hasn't been cold enough for shoes.

I can't get live feed but I'm glad to see on that link that the box has been cleaned. 3 feet of snow is just awful. Last time I saw deep snow was March 1970 and it was nowhere near 3 feet.
