... I suppose the true test would be to look at cams that have always had really bad picture quality and see if those have got any better too. :)

NQ.... maybe you always keep your screen sparkling clean. This cam is certainly clearer for me, Indigo and Jack. I may have to clean my screen more often. :))

Yes ... certainly with the time difference between where I am and where the European cams are, at this time of year most of them are already dark by the time I'm looking in ... so the picture quality has deteriorated accordingly.
