Mira... we had good double glazing but this was in France and the wind was the Mistral.... our windows were usually open just a bit because of the heat. The alternative was to leave the aircon on but I found that an annoying sound to sleep to. Some people are never satisfied! L...

MB, Svalbard, isn't that where the World Seed Bank is located? I seem to have read about that someplace. I can't imagine they would break any of the seals on that facility for tours and such!

MB, the only way to get anywhere in Alaska is by plane. There is only one road in and out of Anchorage ond only two in and out of Fairbanks, the two major cities. In addition, there is only ONE highway in and out of the entire state! Talk about all you eggs in one basket!!

Mira... when we had just 15 trees.... they made a roaring noise when the wind passed through them. I can't imagine the noise that your trees must make. And you slept through it???? Brilliant! :)
