Gosh Trix... you old birder you!!! LOL. Hi Amber. I think it makes sense that more females are produced. Only females can produce the eggs. We don't need as many males because they can put it about a bit. LOL This one's a little beauty.

amber...we do go by tail feathers too...female has black stripes all the way up tail...male has big black band near bottom of tail...i think it was 3 F and 2 M last time...females are larger than males too...

Trix, yes you are right. I don't know why I focus on those tail feathers for gender identity, but I do. Does anyone recall if the last brood had 3 females and 2 males or if it was 4 females and 1 male? I wonder if there are more females than males born. I couldn't find anythin...
