Hi Dona, yes ... that fountain looks very refreshing. :) Our outdoor thermometer hit 80F by late afternoon yesterday! For the last day of April in nw WA that's pretty unprecedented. It's supposed to be similar today ... but rain on the way for the weekend.

thank goodness our riches come from dear friends and wonderful family members...no surprise to me, my son is the most wonderful dad ever...he is everything to his child that his own dad never was...no worries with my son...my job is done...

I've never been on a canal boat either. I've watched a few locks being opened and closed though .... and on a much more massive scale, I've watched Great Lakes ships pass through the Welland Canal locks between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. :)

Where I lived in the Midlands there were lots of canals. My children used to enjoy taking a picnic to a particular lock called Rodbaston 80. They had fun opening and closing the locks for boats coming through. Now I understand why people were always so grateful!

Trix, I've never been on one but my husband made a trip 2 days ago that involved opening and closing locks 124 times! He said it was fun but exhausting.

aww indigo...maybe you could clue us in to the "grumpy" aspect of some people and what makes them tick...so pull a chair up with us at the buffalo and have a cold one on us...lol...and you never seemed grumpy to me...i can smell grumpy from a mile away...lol
