You are thinking too much about this. I have been making bean soup for 30 years and it is never the same twice. Not ever. Just get some beans of whatever sort, I usually tend toward kidney or pinto beans for some reas...
In the meantime ........... I've gone back through the comments and found what I was looking for. I'm tempted to copy and paste. I've copied but should I paste????

LOL....the last time I made baked beans, I used daughters pressure cooker.....cooked baked beans in 45 minutes, but I still put them in the oven after to thicken the liquid up!!
