The two big cables are serial connectors (DB25). Each board has a programmable chip (EEPROM). The board is timed with (what looks like) a 555 chip.

It is very disappointed to see web-cam pictures like these. They are no incentive and theme of the views. It seems like in someone's basement storage dunge cramed with whole bunch of junk. Rubbish and ridiculous!
