I agree the average person would not have wanted to allow such a thing, had they known, but, sometimes, even knowing - it boils down to a case of "us or them." People do what they have to do for their own survival and if that means following orders........  As you  say, to protest was death.

That Ghetto was established to send in Movie Takers for the Nazi Propaganda machine, seeing the Jewish people fight over food entertained them, and fed the propaganda they were no more than animals to the average German, so they would not rise up and stop it. Some wealthy propagandist did basically the same thing to the black in America just after the Civil War, telling the average person who was near starvation the blacks were going to take all their jobs, , it works well in any country where they use propaganda to control the populace, in most places the population will do what they can to survive if poor enough. Noway the Average German would have allowed such a thing had they known before the Govt remade all the laws and took all available means away from the people, to protest was death.

WE must stay informed at all times, and be suspicious of all major News agencies controlled by politicos.  I tell you its happening now in many countries.including the US for political reasons , THe Nazi style was so successful it is copied by most countries to some extent, the US was a good hold out until then major NEWS agencies were purchased by our enemies, so we must take every thing they say as propaganda, and reasoning person that is, the rest are sheep sadly

bill dude.   I just looked up Rivne in Wikipedia. In 1941 it was captured by Nazi Germany. Half of the inhabitants were Jews. About 23,000 were taken to a pine grove and killed. A ghetto was established for the remaining 5,000 Jews and then, in 1942, they were killed.

I love that the Christmas decorations are still there. These people are having fun, despite the fact it looks very cold.
