Mira Bilis, circumstantial evidence would lead me to believe you have a good case! LOL
Mira Bilis02/14/14 16:49
Thanks MD! I didn't get an IP (I still can't get that info on my computers, even using Firefox!) but I did some research into the Afghan community in the SF area, as NQ had previously said the IP was in San Francisco. This info could of course be wrong, but it seems like the best bet at the moment. :-)
MD02/13/14 00:14
Ps. I gave it the green thumb!
MD02/13/14 00:11
Did you get that from the IP address?
Mira Bilis02/12/14 23:52
This cam is apparently in Fremont, in the Bay Area of SF ... the area is locally known as "Little Kabul" because there are many Afghans living here. :-)
Mira Bilis01/26/14 17:30
You're welcome NQ - the sunlight map is useful, if all we have to go by is whether it's daylight or not, or when the sun sets on a cam. :-)
N Q01/26/14 01:39
Mira I forgot to thank you for the sunlight map--very useful !!
N Q01/26/14 01:31
All I can say is the beautician must have terrific eye sight to be able to see the hairs unless they were extremely long hairs !
It's starting to get dark here so I'm incline to believe the ip locator was correct and this is San Fransisco because the sun is just going down there.
Mira Bilis01/26/14 01:24
Wow NQ ... amazing! But it also made me cringe! ;-)
And yes MD, I think the original cam reference was for Afghanville a while back. I think this will be our next team project. :-D
N Q01/26/14 01:19
OMG I've never seen this done before, the beautician is removing facial hair on one of the ladies with a thread !!

Why I put a link to Afghanville is because when I opened the cam in a new tab it says "Hair Salon in Afghanville" in the tab at the bottom of my screen. So I Googled Afghanville and that link says something about places near to Afghanville and they are all Australian addresses. Try opening the cam in a new tab and you'll see what I mean.
Mira Bilis01/26/14 00:41
You might be on to something there MD ... maybe a salon in an 'international district' ... the staff/customers definitely seem to be of assorted ethnicities. I wonder if there's a "Little Afghanistan" in San Francisco ... or Sydney?? :-)
Well San Francisco is the same time as me and it's 3.55pm as I type this. It's obviously still daylight on this webcam too. I'm also looking for clues with the way customers and pedestrians are dressed. :-)
Here's a useful website showing world sunlight maps etc. http://www.die.net/earth/
MD01/25/14 23:37
Alberto...... what's an IDOIT?
N Q01/25/14 23:31
I check a half dozen ip locators and they all state this is a SBCglobal/ATT feed but the other locators are showing Texas and MO. Texas is head quarters of SBCglobal and if I was to guess I'ld say Missouri is where the webcam server is located.
When you put a webcam online you need a server to stream it to just like a website needs a server to host the website. I have a webhost for some of my webpages and even though I'm located in Wis my webhost server is located in PA so a ip location of my webpages comes up as PA.
N Q01/25/14 23:14
I think we're going have to watch the daylight on this one because both of the ip locators I tried stated this is in San Francisco, CA but for some reason I thought the daylight was wrong for the US but then I really haven't been keeping to much of an eye on this cam.
Alberto Alkpone01/25/14 23:10
Big mistake letting IDOITS tinker with the locations of the cam!!!!!!!!!!!
Mira Bilis01/25/14 22:19
Fascinating video MD - whoda thunk it! :-D
So what do the IP detectives say about this cam's location? If the clock is correct then it can't be in Afghanistan. :-)
MD01/06/14 18:30
If you Google "hairstyles in Afghanistan" you will be surprised. This is just one example:
