Well, most folks are wearing at least one layer of clothing when they sit on those stools...

They do it so when they mop the floors there are no marks left on the floor from the chair legs.

I never understood, aside from the cleaning aspect--why people put chairs that someone has has their dirty hemorhoid-laden butt on upside down on a table that someone eats at...........
