2010-02-08 19:35: SOLID@79.79.138.77 : IRENE, this is one web cam that might be of inerest to you, its the view from Brackiej Street looking at the Market Square, its also a live cam.
http://www.krakow.pl/kamera/bracka/index.php
I will look out for the web cam with trams & if i come across it then i will post the site for you ;) 2010-02-08 16:00: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hi everyone, I think for you Lorraine,Prayer is needed, talking to he "Boss" works. Alas, maybe we need to ask that the Atlantic current warm a bit, that will set the patterns back to normal. I worry the cold here in Florida is spelling disaster for Europe, as the A-Curent is partly warmed here normally.
Everything on a large scale has a unusual effect if any part is altered.
Enough of the goobledegook, prayer works, as the "Boss" understands it.
All be well 2010-02-08 14:39: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Trader how wonderful to hear your voice, yes you sure did give me the run but I loved every minute of it!! ☺☻☺ I loved watching you and Blue and Katie batting back and forth I was to slow to get in on it but it was just as much fun watching you guys! Katie has not been to the bench but she shows up once in awhile here http://www.opentopia.com/showcam.php?camid=5381 I still think you spilled the beans ☺ 2010-02-08 13:52: Trader P@81.149.251.129 : Irene & lorraine hehe I remember giving you all the runaround with my ☺☻ then I think it was blue who spilled the beans lol, did you say Katie had been on da-bench? cant stop still trying to catch up in credit crunch UK ♥ 2010-02-08 13:07: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Giving a shout out to Trader!! Thanks for checking in now and again, we have heard from our Katie too! ☺ ☺ ☺ I remember when you taught us how to make the smiley faces ☺ You are lots of fun Trader, miss that! 2010-02-08 12:47: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Hi Lorraine, good hearing from you. Yes, we really got dumped on this time, but we have lots of digging completed just have to uncover and dig out cars. Garage has become the smoking room and where my son stores things including his motorcycle. So it goes. How are you? Has it been to hot to go out with the convertible top down? We could use some of that heat for a melt down!! Ha. 2010-02-08 12:40: Irene@69.141.238.247 : SOLID Would you know how to access video or live cams of Krakow Poland especially to watch the tram cars come and go at the station or a stop. I use to have it but lost it somehow. There were so many different colors and they seemed to move very punctual, just use to enjoy going there. If you know how to access I would appreciate it, Thanks SOLID! :) 2010-02-08 12:36: Irene@69.141.238.247 : SOLID I really appreciated the pictures, thank you for posting them! So nice to see these great shots of Poland :)) 2010-02-08 12:34: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Hi Kyle, I talked to my daughter, Maryland got even more snow than we did. Keeping everyone busy that is for sure, thank God we did not loose our power, many did and some still have not had it restored. I will be glad to say goodby to winter this year!! 2010-02-06 16:16: SOLID@79.76.219.208 : If you want to see the building where this camera is attached to then its on this web page
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=813440&page=3
It is photo No 190, this is The Great/Grand Mill & the camera is located at the very end on the right hand side, the grassed area is where the bench is. Photo No 189 is the cake shop. hehe. If anyone wants to know about any of the other photos then just ask me, (but give me the photo number too ;)
2010-02-06 15:53: SOLID@79.76.219.208 : Re Kyle, i didnt take it as a cut down, i just help some people in the small villages mostly around Gdansk area & inland, up to a few years ago some of the people from these villages didnt even have a phone or know what Mcdonalds was, its a hard life for some & thats why i give clothes to them .& they are not robbed hehe, they are mine or from family.
Trader, yes, Sopot beach is nice & the area is also very nice especially around Grand hotel & the Sheridan hotel . Have you saw the new Spa complex next to Sheridan hotel? Actually, i think its part of the Sheridan hotel, its a fine building 2010-02-06 07:18: lorraine@220.235.233.251 : Hi all, Kyle and Irene worried about the snow, and with me is when the next rain will come. Good to see all is well with every one.
2010-02-06 01:37: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Irene, I grew up in Maryland, I have sisters who live there now, and perhaps one Aunt, not sure if the latter is there or not, havent seen or talked to her since my Uncle died. I visited Pennsylvania many times , but a long time ago I'm afraid. I have not lived in Maryland since I went in the Army, that was in 1964.
Not very familiar with the place now, the last time I went to Maryland and saw they had cut down all the forests, it sickened me, I have no desire to live there now.
I do remember the weather hahahahaha it was worse when I was small, 3 footers were common, and snow drifts over 20 feet were as well.hahahaahaah
I meant what I said, these are strange times kid, ALWAYS lay up provisions, and prepare, one never knows, and to really have to fight ones way to a store is not preferable, timss are different now, rarely will anyone assist you in trouble, as they watch too much TV to realize when anyone is in serious trouble, or see the differance between good guys and bad guys 2010-02-05 19:40: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Kyle Good hearing from you! Glad you enjoyed it, I got a chuckle out of it myself! :) Just came back from the market and it is so jammed with people all laying in supplies in case we get the foot and a half of snow they are calling for. Sure hope they are wrong! This has been a real blinger of a winter for sure. I see you have family from this area, where would that be? Have you ever been up this way? We have been in Florida several times through the years. Hope to get back one day with the grandsons to Disney World. Haven't been there since my own were kids. Really enjoyed it though. The last time we went to Fla we drove down and that was such a nice trip. On the way back home we stopped a few days in St Augustine, What a lovely town loaded with history! Yes Kyle I will bundle up and keep warm! :))) 2010-02-05 18:21: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Irene that is the most amusing gag I've seen in a while hahahhahaa
How are you girl? I hope you are staying out of the cold, I am at the moment checking the weather in your area, as I have family near you. My opinion? BRRRRRRRRRR hahaahahah I am glad I am where I am kiddo
Seems the whole northern hemisphere is decorated in white, and will be for another month , again, brrrrrrr
Take care kid, stay warm 2010-02-05 13:00: Irene@69.141.238.247 : http://content4.clipmarks.com/view_clip.aspx?guid=92A199D6-D811-4930-BE5F-15991DE3AB4B 2010-02-04 19:39: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Trader, SOLID, and Lorraine if out there, have a wonderful day 2010-02-04 19:39: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : ((That was "Classes" ooops misspelled so sue me ""nit pickers"" hahahhaha ) 2010-02-04 19:37: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : SOLID if you are not stealing it, then the Lord has blessed you, so don't worry about what others think or say, only doing what is right.
I never meant it as a "cut down" my friend, and I understand some must make the money, in order for the lessers to have employment, again not meaning a slur, as life dictates clases, not men.
It is said a Country and People are judged by how they treat thier poor, already from what I have picked up on you, you'll do 2010-02-04 19:30: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hello. Yes Trader, lately the ground has been extra hard hahaha and I play the roll hahahah, the problem is I have a hard time playing bundled up hahahaha
Actually there is a nasty side to this extended cold here, that being it is NOT warming the Water that flows your way. That is a very "NOT GOOD" thing. The Atlantic current is vital for everyone. I make funny noises about the chill here, however it is a very serious thing indeed. In reality, crops come and go, we are not going to get the Rickets for one seasons loss,,, Truly I worry over the bigger picture my friend 2010-02-04 13:23: Trader P@217.171.129.73 : SOLID I aways spend time at Sopot every summer, but don't ever tell anyone how gorgeous the beach is, wouldn't want everyone going to one of Poland's best kept secrets :)) 2010-02-04 13:17: Trader P@217.171.129.73 : Hey kyle I believe even the citrus trees are frozen now, still a frozen fairway helps the golf balls bounce a hell of a lot further :)) 2010-02-04 07:15: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hi everyone, hope you all stay warm with the exception of Lorraine, as it's summer there. I have the ditty made in Australia about Jingle Bells, with Santa in an old truck or something like that hahahaha.
Sigh, I moved to Florida, because I was tired of the cold in the upper Midwest of the US, now it's setting records for cold here in Florida.
Hahahaha cant win.
Everyone stay healthy if nothing else. 2010-02-02 10:37: SOLID@79.76.159.243 : Haha, Kyle, your correct, i am one of the lucky Poles but i respect what i have in life, there are many who struggle just to afford food, i help as much as i can by giving away clothes, buying food for people & things like that.
Trader, i have not been to the Baltic for a while because of the wind, its just too cold, i normally go for a walk around Zaspa molo (Zaspa Pier), i am looking forward to the summer time when i can go everyday to the beach & relax in nice sunshine ;) 2010-02-01 19:06: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hello Trader, you too SOLID. Solid first, I think you will be ok SOLID, as you must not be struggling too badly as you can afford a Garage, hahahaha
Hey Trader. I shot even worse yesterday, too cold for me, too much wind as well.
I think I'll look around for a flight suit for such days hahahahahah
It doesn't matter who wins if you come, as its a fun thing to do, a nice walk in the "Park" and no chance of muggers if you don't bet hahahahaha.
Take care, good to see the levity hahahaha 2010-02-01 15:21: Trader P@217.171.129.74 : SOLID I guess it is a tad chilly when you can go a walk on the frozen Baltic :)) 2010-01-30 20:09: SOLID@79.76.216.170 : -38 On Wednesday night, & tonnes of snow, had to clean it all of the roof of my house & garage because i was scared it would have been too much weight. 2010-01-29 14:52: Trader P@217.171.129.71 : Still snowing in Gdańsk! Is it ever going to stop?
2010-01-25 02:22: Trader P@217.171.129.74 : What is your hometown’s claim to fame?
Reddit asks the question. Here are a few answers:
* Bhopal, MP, India – The worst industrial disaster of all time
* Chelmsford, UK – The word boring was invented to describe this town by Charles Dickens.
* London, we tell the rest of the world what time it is :D
* Well my home town is Nokia, Finland.. Call me!
* My hometown will one day be know as the home of the greatest American novelist. or most likely not. but i did write two chapters tonight.
* Liverpool. Probably best known for 80’s band The Flock of Seagulls.
* Sheboygan has the tallest flagpole in the United States. Suck on that, peons.
* Kitchener ON, – Used to be known as New Berlin… till WW2 when we changed it so people wouldn’t think we were Nazi sympathizers.
* Dayton, Ohio. Invented the freaking airplane.
* Bristol, UK … Pirates
* Seattle, Washington, USA – Starbucks, Amazon, Boeing, RealNetworks, grunge, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Jimi Hendrix, Sub Pop, Death Cab For Cutie, and the Space Needle.
* my home town is famous for it’s extreme ability to not be famous at all
* Glasgow Scotland: You are statistically more likely to be stabbed here than anywhere else in Europe, but you’re welcome to visit any time. Really. Especially if I hate you. Oh, and I previously lived in the town home to the man who discovered penicillin.
* Currently living in Louisville, KY. Kentucky gags aside, this is where Hand Surgery was invented and perfected, Thomas Edison first publicly displayed and installed the Electric Light bulb here, some horse race shuts down the city in the spring and Louisville Sluggers are still made here. Just outside of town is enough bourbon to make Reddit a bit tipsy and although I do not drink, the tours are fascinating.
* Stratford-upon-avon – Shakespeare was born there.
* Norwich, Norfolk, UK – home of Colman’s Mustard.
* My hometown (Jackson, Michigan) is the birthplace of the Republican party. We’re sorry.
* Rotterdam, the Netherlands has the largest port of Europe and, until 2004, was the busiest port worldwide.
* Manistee, MI. .. The world’s tallest man, Robert Wadlow, died here after walking in a parade. [Editors note: Wadlow is from Alton IL (near St. Louis)
* Pittsburgh – Steel & Sports. That’s it.
* Dublin, Ohio is also the home of Wendy’s.
* Aurora IL is where Wayne and Garth call home in Wayne’s World.
* LeRoy NY – Birthplace of JELLO.
* Kansas City, MO- home of the best barbecue and the worst professional sports teams on the face of the earth.
*
Allentown, PA … Billy Joel wrote a song about it…well, he actually wrote the song about Bethlehem, PA…but Allentown is rhymier…
What is your hometown’s claim to fame?
2010-01-25 02:20: Trader P@217.171.129.74 : Hey Kyle, your just trying to recoup your losses. Id be a such good bet for you lol :))
2010-01-25 02:16: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Lorraine, always enjoy hearing from you, bet you were out in the Corvette today. :)) 2010-01-25 02:15: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Oh Kyle, I am so sorry you lost I was rooting for you. Better days ahead! :)) 2010-01-25 01:30: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Trader, I lost today... I was plus2 when it was over. Hey you gotta come over and shoot some with me.
Hi everyone 2010-01-23 19:06: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : PS humidity is low, IE Dry, oops, sorry 2010-01-23 19:05: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hi everyone. Loraine, I imagine you folks are using swampers (Swamp coolers IE evaporative coolers) to stay cool, the dryer it is the better they work, keep a wet towel with you and simply swing it around a couple times, the effect is great if very dry, and itll be very cold. Wow, sounds very much like Colorado , at least where I lived in the summer, it there was freeze or broil, not much in between.
Trader, I have been getting better at golf, and intend to take the money this weekend hahahahaa
Solid, I'm glad the misunderstanding was cleared up. Now you can tease along with the rest of us hahahahaha.
Everyone be well,
Irene good to see you over here, many dont have the link anymore I dont think unless they see it posted on the mainframe cam text place.
Gotta run, oh, Trader if ever over in this part of the world, let me know ok, I know a few courses that might please you 2010-01-23 17:12: Bluebottle@86.3.213.41 : G'day Lorraine,as you know English summers only last for a week if that 2010-01-23 12:14: lorraine@220.235.4.163 : Hi all, hows it going. One more month of summer, its been that hot here. Records show that 2009 was the hottest year ever for us ausies, and this one has only just started. Hope every one had a great xmas and new year,
2010-01-20 18:58: SOLID@79.76.162.3 : Haha, thanks Kyle.
Its was freezing a few weeks ago with temperatures going down to -25 degrees. 2010-01-20 18:54: SOLID@79.76.162.3 : Trader- ok, will do. But you can not express words in writing as you can when speaking, i was not being angry or anything like that. I am just passionate about my city & its history, but to all who have not visited i recomend it very much. By the way Trader, have you visited Malbork castle? If you enjoy history then this will be ideal for you :) 2010-01-20 15:22: Trader P@217.171.129.72 : Kyle, got your golf clubs ready yet? :))) 2010-01-20 15:20: Trader P@217.171.129.72 : Thanks SOLID for eventually agreeing with me and keeping the bench at its true location as "The Grand Mill" To answer some of your questions by way of courtesy, No not a Polish speaker but enough to get by so as not to appear rude on my visits. Indeed your assumption is wrong re my name, Its Trader Not TRADER (I don't like to shout) It was given to me years ago on this very site by a fantastic American lady from KY who very rarely posts on here now :((( Thanks but didn't need the history lesson, clearly I already knew about the history and background to this beautiful building. I was very tempted to respond to your last trite remark but resisted. Have a good day and try to chill a little if you can :) Trader 2010-01-20 14:43: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Solid, the only one you "Might" be boring is a native of that area, though, likely not as they try and place who you are hahahahahah
Take care and stay warm
(Hi Trader P) 2010-01-19 19:34: SOLID@79.76.154.57 : So do you speak Polish TRADER? Its an interesting nickname, i assume you have your own business or you work as a tradesman or something along those lines? I might be totally wrong though, :)
Anyway, for all the tourists visiting my city (Gdańsk) & you TRADER :) locally the Grand or Great mill (name varies in translation) is known simply as Młyn (i think you will pronounce it as MWIN) it means Mill, because the old building where the camera is fixed onto was origionally a Mill but is now a small shopping centre with around 100 small units inside which are rented to shopkeepers, most of the shops there are clothes shops.
I hope i am not boring anyone. Across the main road from Młyn is a Church, & nearly directly opposite from the camera is a cake/coffe shop & the cakes are very tasty from there. Further down the road is a bigish shopping centre called "Maddison", its not bad but there is a better & much larger one in a place not too far away called Wrzeszcz, the shopping centre is called Galeria Bałtycka.
Anyway TRADER, if you want to know any information about anything here then just ask & i will do my best to tell you :)
2010-01-19 05:56: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Aaah, now I see, thank you Solid 2010-01-18 16:47: SOLID@79.76.248.192 : TRADER:- I actually live here, & i see you know a Polish word, (thank you) haha.
I meant that the camera is located "on" Młyn shopping centre, ive done a small edit to your update & i think it is correct now.
Maybe we will meet on the bench someday, who knows? 2010-01-14 03:00: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hello everyone, hope all of you are well 2010-01-13 12:25: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Oh Trader, it's always so good hearing from you!! Yeah, I bet you don't miss much even being sooo busy and all. Hee :) 2010-01-13 12:22: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Hey Loraine, haven't heard from you for awhile, how are you? Ahh keep forgetting, you are not one of the frozen. How's your summer been? :) 2010-01-13 12:18: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Hi Blue, looks like new fallen snow on the bench. Hi Kyle, don't sit down! :) 2010-01-10 06:07: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : I set it back , not sure if it'll stay that way, but since its now a tourist attraction, might be a good idea to keep it posted correctly.... Oh , any one, if there is another one at the Shopping mall, let us know the link for it, please, thanks 2010-01-10 06:01: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Hey Trader, tops to you, good to see you on.
I'm not sure either why it was changed, as I'm not familiar with the place like you are.
Maybe he thought it was a favor, or there is a non public cam in the other place he posted. In any case, as I said, glad to see you on, stay warm, I hear its going to get a bit nasty for a while there, brrrrr Ive seen enough cold to do me a lifetime, and moving to Florida has not spared me hahahahaha
Ok, not very cold, but annoying hahahaha
!!Best old friend!! 2010-01-09 21:21: Trader P@217.171.129.70 : Hi Irene, thanks for update I'm keeping my eye on things lol :)))) Great to hear from you x 2010-01-09 21:16: Trader P@217.171.129.70 : SOLID not wishing to be pedantic but I must say your insistence that "The Bench" is "Located on Młyn shopping centre Gdańsk" is a mystery to me. I visit Gdansk 7 or 8 times a year and always go give a wave on it to a few friends. I know it well to say the least, so unless someones uprooted it and moved it within the last few weeks its at the "Grand Mill" the camera is actually screwed to the wall of the mill and the bench is some 6 feet away from it!! I have no idea why you keep posting its wrong location, the sad thing is anyone visiting Gdansk wanting to go see the bench will be unable to find it due to your constant changing (for whatever reason) of its true location. Dziekuje Trader
2010-01-09 04:46: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Hi Trader Pom, As always, good to hear from you. Keep bundled up, and stay safe. Blue got a new computer, Katie checks in from time to time. Some year you will have to come spend it in the cold :-) 2009-12-24 13:07: lorraine@220.235.27.96 : merry Christmas to you all, what a year, and another approaches. good health to you all, always thinking of you all. 2009-12-23 22:49: Kyle@98.231.40.48 : Nor I girl, I tried after 25 years, a beer, and find it n0t to my likeing, I wont try anything stronger, but I remember the term of snockered, its from our youth, not sure what they call it now days hahahaha. It like many sayings was considered a nicer term for drunk, alas, still, drunk is drunk
THe military had a term for it in the ranks hahaha and I cant repeat it here hahahahah
I used to have to go put some kids to bed when they drank too much many times in the military, hey kids are kids, hard to believe I was that young hahahaha
Be well Irene, tell Lorriane Merry Christmas for me, things are about to get hectic here.
Merry Christmas girl, and Happy Holidays 2009-12-23 13:23: Irene@69.141.238.247 : Lorraine, Have a Merry Christmas and the Very Best to you and your family! Kyle, I have to tell you I do enjoy a glass of wine from time to time... but snockered, I haven't been there for over 30+ years, I didn't like anything about it!!
