It's lovely to have so many great memories. I feel very lucky with all the memories I have. I'm laughing at the thought of how far you'd travel with 9 pence now. One foot on the platform is as far as you'd get. LOL

Thanks Rain Shadow, Wow! They got rather fancy since my day...we had steak & kidney pie, chips, sausage, crisps...but then again..we weren't there to eat.....(smile)

If it was on a crossroads and the street was Lower street, then yes, that was it. My friend's cottage is on Lower Street, it's been totally done as a rental cottage, it didn't have indoor plumbing other than the kitchen sink, baths were taken in a big ol' steel bathtub in the kit...
