MD....made it to eye doctor...he did a sonagram...says the eye looks fine...next is a visit to measure my eye, the the surgery....next year....Jan or Feb!!!!!

I think you underestimate yourself. Try just short journeys to begin with. It's only lack of practice and that can soon be overcome. There's this magic thing called satnav. Never used it myself ..... I love maps. :D
