Homely, if it is any help, that image of the hawk is a recording they use when there are no current live images. So most people will see the bird if they visit that camera link during daylight hours. It is a pity this camera is down at the moment, especially during aurora season...

So, I just went to the Aurora Borealis cam that Rain Shadow linked on 11/5 and it was daylight, but there was some sort of a white hawk sitting in the camera. S/he was beautiful! I used my snip tool to grab a pic but can't figure out how to paste it here.

Hi Feral ..... beg steal or borrow but go to Madrid. It'll be a well deserved tonic. I didn't know you went to the Tarn every year....... how lovely. Last year I went across the Millau Viaduct which takes you from one side of the Tarn River to the other ....... an amazing bridge....
