Good morning Trix .... the bread baking came about when we moved from a house that was all electric to a house that had a glass-fronted solid fuel fire. The fire was burning 24/7 and I thought that maybe bread would "prove" on the hearth. It did .... and that was it. Also ..... t...

Hi Silver Squirrel ...... that blizzard was mentioned on our news in the UK. I hope it's not as bad as expected. I spent 15 years away from the UK and I certainly didn't miss winters ...... although in southern France we did have a sighting of snow .... just for a morning .... on...

My hometown has changed in many ways from my growing up days. I have family there but I moved away over 15 years ago. Just spoke with my sister. They are expecting a blizzard this weekend. Up to 2 feet of snow. I don't miss winter at all.

I used to love the smell of home-baking. I agree with you about the kids helping to eat the goodies. I expect you had a job keeping up with your brood! When I was a youngster and my parents were at work ... a lovely lady used to look after me. She had 3 children so with me there...

Same here. I also used to bake my own bread ..... but we ate it as soon as it came out of the oven. I did lots of baking when I didn't have much money. So much cheaper to do your own. Obviously ..... now ... I have more money than sense!!!! LOL
