I sometimes do what they call a "round robin," I go to Paignton on the bus. Paignton is a seaside resort. From there I catch the steam train to Kingswear, followed by the ferry to Dartmouth. After a look round the shops I catch the bus home. Exhausting but fun.

Fascinating! Didn't you say your son had been on that railway shortly before the storm? Loved the guy who didn't want anyone looking in his windows. With all ths crazy weather it just might happen again, but I'd still love to ride the train.
