NQ, those people on their bikes in that windchill are the toughest die-hards I have seen. I gassed up my car a couple hours ago and couldn't feel my fingers when I was done.

When there is no open water, Cleveland will get a lot less snow(Lake effect).When the cold air winds come over the lake in certain directions, some communities can get feet of snow while others will have none and maybe sunshine. That is why it's called the Lake Erie snow machine.

Thanks girls. For the first 40 odd years I lived in the UK where they did it one way, then I moved to the continent where they did it another way. Now I'm back in the UK and I've managed to muddle them together. Trix... I liked your lesson. Beats me why we have to have effin cees...

Mornin' ladies. If it helps at all ... if you take the C figure, double it and add thirty, that gives you the approx. F figure to within a couple of degrees. I guess it's done in reverse to get F to C. :)

MD I always have to google the temp in celsius to convert it to fahrenheit, I can never figure it otherwise ! You must be at 9C which is 48.2 F, otherwise if you were at 9F then it would be -12.22C. I'm sure we would be able to hear your frozen screams way over here on the other ...

MD...if the cold air goes directly to the bones and freezes you in place....it's likely F...if the cold tells you to put on a sweater...it's a C...LOL
