NQ... a further thought..... there are houses all along that stretch, quite near to the line, and if the railway was built higher it would block out their daylight.

NQ... they rebuilt it in exactly the same place but I believe they made the seawall a bit higher. My son used to use this line regularly and often texted me to say the waves were crashing onto the roof of the train. I was always so glad when he got past Dawlish. And I'm so reliev...

MD I can't imagine riding on a train that's being hit by waves ! I know I'ld be calling into work sick everyday the waves were high if I had to ride it to work. When they rebuilt it couldn't they have built the railway so that it was higher and less possibility of the waves hitti...

trix the rover Opportunity landed in 2004 and worked up to 2010. They sent up another rover(Curiosity) in 2012 and that one is expected to work till 2020. So far no martians have been seen :) but there are some pictures that make you wonder if at one point there was life on Mars ...
