Mira Bilis, that was really interesting. Just one thing puzzles me. At the end, he says that whenever he visits Detroit someone always asks if he's had a good Coney yet. What's a Coney??? :)

for some reason the landlord thinks any improvements will raise the taxes to the clouds...lots of the replacement items are used (furnace...toilets..sinks)...my BFF owns 5 houses and makes repairs on them immediately and got lots of tax back because of it...

It's a real shame ... there are some beautiful old houses and buildings in Detroit. Interestingly many photographers flock there to take pictures of the urban decay ... apparently it's even popular to have wedding photos done there now. There was a fascinating episode of Anthon...
