Jules, most of what I put about the haggis, I had from Wikipedia but I invented Corky dog! LOL
Mira Bilis, as you know, you can also get tartan paint in Ireland but it tends to have too much green in it. ;)
Every time we drive past it, we detest it some more. What were they thinking. Loads of people protested. From the top you can probably see the huge wind farm they've erected just off Redcar sands. (the council probably think of them as another tourist attraction)
Jules, thanks for that but I really don't like it. Only younger or fitter people will be able to "walk along" that pier. What were they thinking? LOL
Hi Mira, not ignoring you. :D
I should have said usquebaugh! Whiskey - whisky - depends how much you've drunk. (I hate whiskey unless it's so diluted it could be used as a homeopathic medicine to rub on my poor knees) Sacrilege, I know.
Mira Bilis, I commented as it first came on the news. Later they said it wasn't as bad as first thought. It's a shame to lose these old piers, especially if it's deliberate.

Not looking quite so idyllic at the moment ... tropical storm season in full swing I guess.
Yeah MD ... that fire was bad but I think they said the pier can be salvaged ... unlike Brighton's West Pier, which got a bit beyond anyone's help. ;) Old piers are so vulnerable to fires, sadly.
It was really bad but it was East of me. I live near downtown L.A. and it was in the mountains and high desert. It caused a huge mudslide that even killed one person and did major damage. :(.
