Just saw another kestrel at the opening with a decent sized bird which was dangled about and then withdrawn. Very strange.

Trix, this is the first time I've caught sight of any birds in the box since the last little one left. It's very odd. It would be lovely if we had another clutch of eggs. The weather has been crazy this year, maybe nature has got a bit shook up.

very odd...adult female in here when a juvenile male came in (he has tiny white feathers on his head) and kept biting her beak...she kept spinning around till he stopped...then she moved and he tried to claw her stomach...she sat still until he stopped and they both sat for awhil...

It's interesting watching these 2. The male is in the nest rearranging the flooring material, he hops up to the door and calls for the female, she comes and takes a quick walk around inside and leaves again, he goes back to rearranging the flooring, hops up to the door, calls for...

Finally its back on. This was longest its been off in a long time. I have checked it every morn since it went off and to my surprise it was on this morn. Yipee!!

I must have missed all that excitement Susan! I hope it all goes okay. I lived in a flat when I was back in the UK but I was on the top floor, so didn't have to worry about any neighbours above me. But I can totally sympathise. :)
