I'm just watching a prog, "The Mystery of the Nevada Triangle." About the finding of Steve Fosset's plane, and the disappearance of others. Not the sort of place you'd want to get lost in.

One of the truly American native fruits.  We've visited Westport on the WA coast which is the "cranberry capital" around here.  Funny to think of bogs as being attractive places .... I'm sure the bogs of Dartmoor are a little more sinister, eh MD??   ;-)

N Q, I saw that it said 610 years old but that youtube clip must have been done in 2005, making them 619 now. Staggering.

Mira, staggering to think that those wisteria were planted in1395. N Q, they are more than likely tied, similar to the espalier method.

That cranberry bog raking sounds clever. I've been known to eat Ocean Spray cranberry sauce on crusty French bread! Ocean Spray really is the best. I'll be trying dried cranberries and sunflower seeds on my next salad.

They are pretty Mira. I didn't realize that they grew on straight stems or are they more then likely tied to straight poles here ?

Never been here before....I lived in Las Vegas for 30 years. It wasn't so bad many years ago, but it has become a crazy town now. I don't miss it a bit! I love country living, although Vegas is only an hour away.
