Mira Bilis, I want to go to Venice. I've never been there. I've got so many jigsaw puzzles of it..... I think these places are built with narrow streets to capture some shade. I think "mini time capsules" is an apt summation.

I love small, intimate spaces like this ... they're like mini time capsules from a gentler age, cut off from the outside world. I've always been fascinated by alleys, narrow streets and hidden squares and courtyards ... there's something otherworldly about them. :-)

Lunawolf, what a lovely memory. The style of life is so different in places like, Italy, France and Spain, more family orientated. N Q, I've only ever been to a drive in movie once. That was as a youngster in France. The film, Cat Ballou, was projected onto a screen made of bamb...

Indigo, I recently read "How Green was my Valley." I mentioned it to a friend that I bumped into. A day or so later I got an email from him with a link to the film. I think this place looks lovely.

Lunawolf what a nice memory ! I can picture sitting in a square like this watching movies on a wall, though not at all the same but it reminds me of going to drive-in movies with my family when I was a small child :)
