I have checked back here religiously, hoping for some signs of habitation, but to no avail. Now, if you look closely, you can see that the nest even has cobwebs in it! I guess I can no longer fool myself by thinking that they are just out for the day ;-) I shall patiently wait ...

Oh dear, no snow. Did they move the cam to a different location? Or was there some sort of problem that caused their snow to melt in the tube? I hope this is just a new cam in a different place!

Hi Homely, pepper spray is a wise precaution. Even the mildest of creatures can act violently if startled. Pepper spray does no lasting harm but would give you the chance to leg it! My mother used to say "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
