Cow Barn - Automated Milking System — Triesdorf, Germany
MD · Nov 8, 2013 14:09
Now that's confounded the system! I've just watched as one cow came out and another went in.  The second cow went in ok but walked straight through. The purpose of me watching was to see how they get connected to the machinery. I've had fun picturing them fiddling with their clum...

Lol at the spiders. I'm not bothered about them, I don't think we have any poisonous ones. Now, when I lived in France, our first house had a barn under the same roof. Until my husband did the renovation work, it was not unusual to wake up and find scorpions in our shoes or slipp...

Oh wow.  It took me a while to figure out what I was looking at, but I finally figured it out.  We are looking at an automatic milking stall.  These cows are waiting in line, then moving into the milking stall for milking.  Very cool! These automatic milking stalls are best suit...

I think you are correct, MD. I have the other cam bookmarked, and now that I switch back and forth between the two this is clearly a different cam. It startled me at first, though!

We have white tailed deer, not black tailed. They are graceful, docile, and absolutely ravenous. When you drive around, even in the suburbs, all the tree limbs and leaves are at a uniform height from the ground... exactly as far as a deer can stretch up to eat them! And they eat ...

LOL. Hi Dona, I never noticed the open laptop, I was so taken aback at seeing someone, having decided he lived on his own. I've looked at this cam several times and that's the first time I've seen anyone else. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another man in a white shirt is/was sitting un...

Hopefully Susan will read your comment and tell us about the curtain! A while ago Susan told us how surprised she was to see on tv that her block was on fire. It was QUITE a fire and she was unaware. Luckily they put it out but the link showed just how scary it was. It looks to ...

Wow Homely - you're very brave to go out running alone in the dark in an urban environment.  Personally I've always felt more threatened by people than animals - I used to live in a town centre and always felt nervous if I had to be out after dark.  It's an interesting perspectiv...

I must take up knitting or something, keep me away from this cam. Our man was sitting there going from channel to channel to channel with the tv remote. It shines like a beacon and also reflects in the mirror on the far wall. As he got to about the 20th channel, a man came throug...

Hi, Mira - I think I would feel constantly threatened by nature when I run no matter where I lived! I actually live in a very urban area. The "problem" is that I am out running at 5 am, when it is dark. Even in urban areas, lots of critters have adapted to city life and just befo...

That is an interesting article MD.  I'm guessing that certain areas in the US are worse than others for these problems.  I've not heard or read about any such instances in these parts, so I guess that's why we're not so bothered by it.  :)

I checked out Susan's address on streetview - very nice building right in the centre of downtown Seattle. I wonder why she has a curtain on the outside, on her balcony?  Must get a bit damp during rainy weather. ;)

Sounds like you have the best of both worlds, living near to the border. 24 years since you last visited your cousins.... don't lose touch like I did. It IS quite sad really, because I wouldn't recognize my cousins if they were standing next to me. Happily I'm not one to dwell on...
