Wow MD, don't think I could live thru a winter like that! In Louisiana if it sleets all schools and businesses are shut down mainly bc we don't know how to drive in that kind of weather!

Hazel, on another Whitby cam you said it looks a nice place to live. I've never lived there but it is a lovely place. And the fish and chips............ yummy!

That would explain it! I came back to the UK in 2009 after 15 years in South of France. The first winter wasn't too bad but the second winter we were cut off by the snow. We are surrounded by hills which were impassable. I now do my Christmas shopping very early... just in case.
