We'd been playing tennis and I was walking back to the building. I spotted a smooth pebble and decided to "serve" it. It went rather too far. There were several of us and we ran. We were all dressed identically and Mr Etchells wore coke bottle glasses. :D

Hi stargzr ..... my daughter has a friend who lived in Maine ...... sounded horrific weather to me. I went to a posh school and we had strict uniform code ....... no pants allowed. Thank heavens for mild winters. I love that expression "tough old bird!" :D

These are the average temperatures for where I live now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_south-west_England Wolverhampton says minimum temps fo Dec = 34F. Jan = 33f. Feb 33F (where I lived before) France and Spain were even warmer.
