Yeah MD ... I linked to the BBC news story on the Bench page ... the pictures looked pretty grim.  :(

Hi girls. We've had heavy rain all day, rather that than ice and snow. I wonder how Feralorchid is getting on. Somerset has been hit worse than Devon. They've deployed the army to help at Somerset though I think it's too little too late. Canals and rivers need dredging BEFORE they flood.

Dona, I agree with you. Snow is lovely on Opentopia and Christmas cards. You keep nice and snug, I'll go find my flippers and snorkel!

Mira Bilis, I just looked it up. Brigid is on its way, 150mph winds and all the trimmings. Ho hum.

Wow! Dona is in Georgia. Snowploughs are expensive and you wouldn't buy them unless you expected to need them. This snow is catching everyone out.

Well, without meaning to sound too pessimistic, I'd have to say ... get used to it. Accelerated climate change means weather like this is going to become more and more common in areas where it never occured before.

BTW ... is there some storm called Bridget supposedly heading for the UK???

Georgia & Alabama got 1-3" of snow that shut them down completely on tuesday. My niece who lives in Alabama said it took her 8 hours to drive what normally takes 30 minutes, she also stated that today most of the roads are still shut down.

They don't really have snowplows down there and she said they don't sand/salt the roads in her area so it doesn't take much to close them down.

Is this snow, in Georgia?
