That's the way to do it ... a glass of wine while filling in your lotto numbers.  ;)

MD, we started watching "Witnesses" last night ...  very promising ... http://www.channel4.com/programmes/witnesses

MD 08/03/15 15:36

I could just sip a glass of Ricard.  :)

Mira Bilis 08/03/15 15:26

The bar view is much more interesting.

Nancy.... it's over on the extreme right.

nychick 12/05/14 16:52

What ever happened to the bar?

MD 07/10/14 13:07

They've changed the angle, better view.

Lol!  When my husband smoked a pipe he used to have some lovely tobaccos. Cherry, apricot and another one called nougat were my favourites. I often used to have a little puff of them but they smelled better than they tasted, rather like herbal tea!

LOL!!!  Gotta love Mr Freud!  :-D

I smoke the odd fruit or chocolate flavoured cigar which you can get in the tribal stores (gawd bless 'em) and cigar shops here.  ;-)

Hypocrisy knows no bounds when it comes to "vices."  I have strong opinions on personal freedoms but I tend to keep them to myself most of the time, otherwise I'd never shut up!  ;-P

MD 03/07/14 22:18

Mira Bilis, well said. When I was in France I used to smoke the odd cigar, just small ones called Fleur de Savane.

To paraphrase Sir Clement Freud "If you resolve to give up smoking, drinking and chocolate, you don't actually live longer, it just seems longer." (He didn't mention chocolate.  LOL!!!!!)

amen!!!

Indigo, I enjoy the occasional good cigar, cigarette ... and a decent glass of wine or whisky in the privacy of my own home.  Apparently in America it's okay for people to own guns and blow eachother's brains out ... but god forbid they light up a cigarette!!!  ;-)

indigo 02/26/14 10:59

Gee Mira, I hope you dont really smoke. I smoked for 35 years and it almost killed me in 1991, needless to say I never smoke again.

MD 02/19/14 21:48

Lol. There is definitely something to be said for isolation!

Where I live there are at least 3 shops that sell cigarettes, plus I'm sure some of the pubs do "under the counter" stuff. You see ads for special offers on tobacco and cigarettes. In France, you can't buy cigarettes etc at supermarkets, only at tabacs or places called Regies, government regulated outlets. There is no cut price stuff available. There is a regulated price for all tobaccco products.

They don't keep putting anti-smoking ads on tv like they do in the UK. Their attitude seems to be, it's your choice. As long as they get their revenue they're happy.

It's hard to imagine it anywhere these days ... we are in the grip of nanny state politics.  I'm just grateful that we live so far out in the sticks that I can still wander outside and have a cigarette if I want to ... or drink a glass of whisky ... or swear at the top of my voice ... or play music at full volume ... and nobody will care!  ;-D

MD 02/19/14 20:18

And could you imagine that in a UK post office? Lol.

Mira Bilis 02/19/14 20:02

Sounds idyllic to me MD ... LOL ... they'd never allow that in this country, sadly.  ;-)

MD 02/19/14 16:54

On the extreme right there is a short, black vertical stripe. It's actually a door handle. A man just came in and went to the right. It could very well be a bar on the right and a bit of a Bureau de poste on the left. In France they have little places called tabacs where you can go and have a beer or whatever, whilst buying your baccy, and oddly, postage stamps.

MD 02/19/14 16:36

I green thumbed it!

Mira Bilis 02/19/14 16:05

Looks like a post office to me.  :-)
