Mira .... yes I have visited the catacombs in Paris. It was back in 1986 on an organised holiday. We didn't have to wait long. I think if it's an arranged visit you get preferential treatment. Like with the London Eye - when we got there the queue was humongous but my friend went to the reception desk and gave details of her booking. It was a champagne breakfast. They took all us off to one side and we only waited a few minutes ..... probably while they got the champagne sorted .... and we were escorted to our capsule.
Any closer and we'll be on board.

MD, have you ever visited the Catacombs in Paris? I watched this fascinating feature on France24 ... http://www.france24.com/en/20160304-france-focus-paris-underground-subway-catacombs-water-la-defense I'd love go one day but apparently the queues to get in are horrendous.
More dramatic events in Paris today. :(

Wall Street Journal has a good slide show too ... I like the way they did it at the Sydney Opera House ...

I hope it's a false alarm.
Apparently the area around the Eiffel Tower has just been evacuated.
Thanks Mira ... so sad.

OMG ... BBC News is reporting, a TGV train has derailed near Strasbourg killing 5 and injuring 7 ... is there no end to the misery for France? :{

NQ ... the sad thing is, everyone will have heard of them by today ... not the way they'd wish to become famous.
Indeed Massinissa ... we all need to lend our support at this time.
Thanks Mira for the Eagles update. I've never heard of Eagles of Death Metal band.
