We used to do that too, when I was a kid ... nowadays we either use a tree with roots that can be re-planted or more often, a large dead salmonberry branch which is decorated with tinsel and baubles ... that one does go on the bonfire. :)

WOW this bonfire has gotten quite a bit bigger in the last 30 minutes and quite a few more people have come out to watch it. Mira our christmas night tradition is to light last years christmas tree on fire. It ends out being a very quick bonfire because once lit that tree goes up...

Mira I know that I went through the Poland cams before christmas and this one wasn't there then but then it seems that there are a lot of cams that come and go. If there is a duplicate of this cam it's not showing up right now but might later.
