I don't eat lamb, not because I can see them from my windows, I think it's very greasy. My mom used to cook a large joint of it and I had to eat it then. No choice. I loved it when we had a nice joint of roast beef. I love the outside edges ..... the well done bits.

Trix... that sounds delicious. I do cottage pie... it sounds very similar. In the UK, cottage pie is beef mince and veg with mash on the top. Shepherd's pie is with lamb and a pastry lid. I much prefer the sort you are cooking. I need to read your books.... LOL

Trix, at least your great grandfather had the enterprise to try a new world. I don't like making pastry. I have long nails and I hate the feel of dough... that sort of dough... under my nails. I'm happy to eat it though!! LOL
