Mira Bilis, I just remembered, there was a cam at Agay on Opentopia when I first found it. What a shame it's not on here now.

Mira Bilis... OMG!!!! We lived at St Raphael which became Frejus-St Raphael and our favourite beach was at Agay! I used to use the post office there because it was so quiet. There were just a few shops and bars along the seafront, nothing to bring in massive crowds. I've spent many hours sitting on the benches there, just looking out to sea.
When they have forest fires people are evacuated to a place at Frejus. I used to shop in Frejus. St Raphael was more tourist shops than proper supermarkets. What a small world.

I can just imagine MD! I wonder if we ever stayed at the same campsite?? We camped near Fréjus on our first holiday to the South of France and Grimaud on our second. My favourite place was Agay ... I remember fishing shells out of the water off the jetty and tipping them out, only to be amazed when they all started to move around ... every one of them had a hermit crab inside! :D

Mira Bilis, I lived there for 7 years. Before that I lived at St Raphael. We used to spend camping holidays between Port Grimaud and Ste Maxime when they were building Port Grimaud in the late 60's, early 70's. I remember walking along the beach and my father looked at the sales office for properties at Port Grimaud. The dearest was at that time about £6,500. My father said that anyone who bought one would be sitting on a gold mine. Little did I know then that I'd end up living there. He was right about sitting on a gold mine. I won't tell you how much we paid in 2002!!!!

I loved Port Grimaud ... happy memories. :)

Also in France you have Cogolin and Cogolin plage. Miles apart but the beach belongs to the town.
Mira Bilis04/29/14 22:40
No worries MD .... if you google images of beaches at Saint Petersberg, they do exist, although nothing that looks like this view.

Mira Bilis, having looked at the proper Google map, I find it conceivable that this coast DOES count as Saint Petersburg. If you look at Grimaud in France, I lived at Port Grimaud which was miles away.
Still doesn't explain the Roubaix connection though.
Mira Bilis04/29/14 22:36
I wonder if it is somewhere on the French coast but the IP is simply based in Roubaix?
MD04/29/14 22:26
OH!!! I looked at the Google map under the cam and it didn't look coastal. Hmmm. So... I wonder where this place is.
Mira Bilis04/29/14 21:44
Yuck MD! :(
When I checked on the map, Saint Petersburg is a port city, although I'm not sure if it has any actual proper beaches as such.
MD04/29/14 21:36
And Saint Petersburg isn't on the coast either.
BBC weather for my area just forecast rain coming in from the Atlantic :(
Mira Bilis04/29/14 21:20
Weird how the stills seem to indicate that this place only had three hours of daylight .... plus the image info puts this in Roubaix, France, which is also wrong, as Roubaix is not on the coast. :/

Gee...thanks MD...lol
MD04/04/14 17:56
Trix, they've been here all the time.
trix abound04/04/14 17:33

trix abound04/04/14 17:31

Thanks for the cam links ... very nice! It is a small world indeed ... even smaller with Opentopia! :D
I just googled but the Agay cam wasn't available . However, there is a Frejus cam.
