When I read the article I thought thank goodness he didn't get the death sentence. Could you imagine bringing in laws to make chips and DNA registration compulsory?  If I was in charge I'd have all newborn babies chipped and DNA samples taken.  In the fullness of time ...... unch...

I guess thats why some people are against the death sentence (though his was life)...we should all have chips in us and have our DNA registered.

Well if the results are open to the public .... they're open to the police.  I look forward to a lot of cold cases being solved. G-daughter -  I wonder where all that GB came from.  DNA tests are amazing.

Geneology made a statement that they do not give out information but said that many people have their results open to the public in order to find relatives. g-daughters results were a surprise to me and daughter!!!!

salt and pepper!!! it was on the news last night that what the police did was get DNA from relatives of suspects and found a match and they all gave samples willingly.

I didn't know those genealogy sites allowed police searches of DNA.  I suppose if you have nothing to hide  - it doesn't matter.  However  ..... when I left the police force I had them destroy the record of my fingerprints. What will you have with the squash? http://www.bbc.co.uk...
