2008-09-03 04:30: observer@69.180.78.83 : Intelligence is a matter of perspective, i had an encounter with a Giant Squid many years ago right here in Jacksonville , near the Naval base, it was twilight, it sacred me so badly I nearly killed myself diving over the Jetty I was near. After several years i finally understood the feeling i had just prior to looking up and spotting that eye about 20 feet from me, and the actual predicament I was actually in, this eye was the size of a large dinner plate, not a small one. This thing was intelligent and was observing me hahahah, still gives me the willies to think of it, my point is Science, wants a live one, one of the most intelligent creatures in the sea, "why?" they want to dissect it alive. These creatures have avoided man, for good reason. Just so you understand the stance of our most intelligent "Men" (it is collective girls) the "Science" demands a dissection to make it real. My advice before you pop a cork fellow observers, best to watch, not destroy. The Giant Squid is a bit faster than rumor has it, and can evade your Sonar. Have a good day
Kyle (THe black sheep) 2008-09-03 04:16: observer@69.180.78.83 : oh, they can tell the difference between humans, unlike us, who cannot tell them apart, except for scars or damage or color or perhaps sex. any stranger is a threat, understand that, and even the benign Beluga will attack if she feels her baby is threatened. Shame we cannot communicate with them as their senses are near totally alien to ours 2008-09-03 04:13: observer@69.180.78.83 : I am Kyle, just so you know which "observer" to are hearing from.
I don't care what so-called scientist think of my statement, to get that out of the way.
This Beluga is a Mother, she reasons eat and feed baby, she cannot understand captivity, but knows there is no dangers from "Normal" predators. The whale has a different arranged mind than humans, so cannot grasp out actions, so she sees threat, no threat, and a measure of trust in repeating same creatures who feed or look at her, she has never had to deal with being observed like this, so is naturally nervous about it. In he species experience, observation is a prelude to eventual attack, as that is what she was taught, and is her method, if the quarry is dangerous.
2008-09-03 03:00: Loves Animals@71.109.228.120 : I know that this is how people learn about beautiful creatures such as this, but it is so sad that they have to live out their existance in this plain sterile enviromnent.
