NQ ..... I haven't seen this tree in your recent foray!

MD 11/29/15 17:48

Trix .... I only just saw your comment on parish records in Varmland.  I'm guessing you didn't find anything.

N Q 11/29/15 17:43

I think this is a duplicate cam or atleast I thought I already found this christmas tree but I'm not seeing a recent comment from me on here.

LOL MD....googled but got sidetracked when i saw parish records in varmland!!!!!

MD 04/07/15 12:55

Or even between the lines......

MD 04/07/15 12:54

Trix ... I just Googled "logging in Varmland" and this lengthy link came up. If you read betwen the lines (it's quicker that way) they do mention logging and timber industry but not too often.

it's a very irritating thing to happen...

MD 04/07/15 12:34

Trix ... I've only looked at the ones I've commented on. After yesterday I lost my enthusiasm.

I just came back to this cam in time to see the sky filled with blackbirds.

MD...are the cams working better for you now?

trix abound 04/07/15 12:20

yes...book was about the English ones!!!

MD 04/07/15 12:12

Hi Trix ....... Syrsa used to live here. It really is a shame you can't find out more about your ancestors. I remember you telling me once about a book but I think that was about the Warwickshire branch!  :))

morning MD....maybe my relatives came from here...although it didn't say anything about it being a logging community!!!!

It's a dull day in Varmland.

Mira Bilis.... that makes sense I suppose... new start, new name.. but it seems a shame. I could understand people from Germany changing their names because of the war. I've just finished an amazing book written by an English woman who married a German and was living in Germany when WW11 broke out, all about their struggles. Fascinating.

That's wonderful and fascinating NQ!  :)  So many immigrants altered/changed their last names when they arrived in America (my hubby's grandfather was one of them)  ... I've often said that must be one of the reasons why there are so many odd/unusual surnames in this country.  ;)

MD 08/18/14 15:21

N Q, that's fantastic!!!!  Fancy finding your dad's second cousin in such a random way!!!  Norway, France, Switzerland....no wonder you got lost for an hour or so. I think that's brilliant.  :D
